West Midlands Combined Universities helping the recovery

The West Midlands Combined Universities (WMCU) consortium – comprising of Birmingham City University, Coventry University and the University of Wolverhampton – has been working together to implement a number of initiatives to support the recovery of the region and beyond following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The universities have been evolving and innovating their teaching methods to deliver quality online learning and incorporating social distancing guidelines for face-to-face study starting in September 2020. WMCU is also working with businesses to help them respond to the pressures and changing needs created by the coronavirus, while prioritising the safety of their staff, customers and suppliers. In addition, the institutions continue to support those most in need, with community-based projects and initiatives.

The three members of West Midlands Combined Universities are striving to deliver a safer and more resilient future for all. Our research communities are undertaking specialist projects to develop our understanding and knowledge around the coronavirus, including developing tests for possible treatments.
